Sailing For Living
Sailing lessons and courses in Sardinia
Dario and Giulio founded The Sailing for Living sailing school in order to turn their mutual passion for sailing into a profession.
The basic and advanced sailing courses take place in the beautiful Gulf of Alghero in the stretch of water in front of the village of Fertilia, while the excursions and courses with the larger boats will take us to the protected marine area of Capo Caccia Isola Piana to discover the breathtaking landscapes of the Porto Conte Nature Park.
Learning to sail, to use the wind to move forward in the sea, is a unique experience, especially for children, which is why we try to privilege our collaboration with the schools, with the sole intention of allowing the largest number of children to engage in this incredible sport.
The mission of our sailing school is to increase students' skills and self-esteem by transmitting to them all the values of the sport of sailing and respect for the sea and nature.
The sailing courses are held by FIV federal instructors who, with the help of advanced equipment and techniques, will teach young and old how to sail, the healthiest and cleanest way to discover the sea.

At five, I was competing with my dad for the rudder on his Hobiecat 16. When I was eight years old, as commander of my first Optimist, I started competitive sailing, graduating to 420, then Laser and windsurfing until the more recent sailing regattas on keelboats and yachts.
In 2015 I was officially certified as a sailing instructor by the Italian National Sailing Federation (FIV) and this made it possible for me to realize my dream of finally teaching others how the sport of sailing can promote the path that a child takes to become a man.

At 10 months I was on the family’s wooden goiter. At the age of 8 I officially entered the world of sailing by attending summer courses at the sailing clubs in Alghero, courses that eventually led me to become a FIV Federal Instructor.
In the last 10 years I have travelled the world, spending extended periods abroad doing voluntary work in schools and cultural centers in Guatemala and Cambodia. These important experiences induced me to set up a non-profit association, Next Step Equal Education, which aims to improve the education of children and young people in rural areas of Guatemala.
